As part of the 50 Lives 50 Homes project, the After-Hours Support Service (AHSS) provides nursing and psychosocial support after hours, that integrates with the case management and tenancy support provided by organisations participating in 50 Lives 50 Homes. The AHSS is a critical element in enabling 50 Lives 50 Homes to sustainably house and support the most vulnerable rough sleepers by extending the capacity of existing service providers by providing follow-up services in evenings and on weekends.

This program works with Aboriginal people, to provide individual case management services to improve access to counselling and to medical and non-medical professional services for people who have mental health issues and problematic alcohol and substance use issues. This program supports person-centred and client focused therapeutic approaches to delivering evidenced based care to Aboriginal people across all ages in a culturally safe environment. It delivers specific mental health programs including suicide prevention, community engagement/education and outreach counselling. The program provides physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, individual and group counselling, education, psychological therapies and group support during and after treatment. It includes outreach services with the aim to support mental health counselling services and reduce alcohol and drug related harm to the individual and the broader community and assist them to recover on country in a safe and culturally appropriate environment.

The service provides timely, responsive and professional support of assessment, case management, psychological therapy includlng counselling and skills based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), linkage to general practitioners (GPs) and appropriate health and social services to people. In addition, the service, which is also funded by the Mental Health Commission (MHC) is underpinned by strong partnerships ensuring an integrated and collaborative service with close links to hospitals, community agencies and general practice.

ARBOR (Active Response Bereavement Outreach) is a proactive postvention support service providing short to medium term bereavement counselling and support for people bereaved by suicide. Office-based and outreach services are provided in the metro area by professional grief and bereavement counsellors and trained peer supporters. Peer supports are individuals who have been bereaved by suicide in the past.
ARBOR is active in the community following suicide and aims for early engagement of those bereaved ((family, friends, professionals and peers))with support services, resources and assistance. The program aims to:
• to reduce stigma and isolation associated with suicidal bereavement and normalise the grief process;
• reduce the risk of suicide amongst those bereaved;
• raise awareness of the complexities of suicide bereavement with allied health professionals
