Delivered by WA Primary Health Alliance and in collaboration with WA Department of Health, this secure website provides GPs and other health professionals with guidance for assessing, managing and referring patients across Western Australia at no cost.
Visit Clinician Assist WA
Please note: Clinician Assist WA has replaced HealthPathways WA and continues to be managed locally by WA Primary Health Alliance. It provides access to the same trusted local guidance, features and functionality and will remain free to users.
The aim of the site is to improve health equity by providing registered health professionals working in WA with access to up-to-date and consistent clinical and referral information to support all Western Australians.
More than 650 clinical and referral pathways have been localised for WA. These have been developed considering different patient population needs, and locally available resources and referral options (when available). Unlike traditional guidelines, clinical and referral pathways are succinct and easily used during a consultation. They are evidence-based and summarise locally relevant and agreed-upon assessment, management, and referral advice on key patient presentations.
Access to Clinician Assist WA
Although primarily written for GPs, all health professionals registered to practice in WA can register for access to the site. Previous users of HealthPathways WA must re-register and set up a unique login, as part of the improved security of this new site.
Health professionals registered with AHPRA will be automatically verified by the system and given immediate access. All other users may experience a slightly longer verification period; however, our team will be prioritising this process.

Who contributes to Clinician Assist WA?
The Clinician Assist WA website contains clinical, non-clinical and referral pathways. Clinical pathways are developed, regularly reviewed and maintained by a team of local GP Clinical Editors, in consultation with local specialists and subject matter experts.
Feedback can be easily submitted on the site by users to help inform and enhance content.
Developing and reviewing pathways
The multi-step process of developing and reviewing clinical pathways can be complex, often involving consultation with numerous stakeholders. The result is a suite of comprehensive, clinically accurate and robustly governed clinical and referral pathways, which are structured considering their GP primary audience, no matter where they are located in WA.
Newly developed clinical and referral pathways are added to the review schedule from the date of first publication. A dedicated team of GP Clinical Editors and Coordinators at WAPHA ensure any critical updates required outside of the review schedule are actioned promptly.
